On the last day of 2012, I want to pause for just a moment to reflect and say thank you.
One year ago today, Night School had not yet been published in any country. A year ago, I wasn’t really an author yet. I was still writing travel books and working on my novels in my spare time. Night School was about to come out in England and I was hoping for a miracle.
The miracle was you.
The last 12 months have been such a whirlwind, I think it will take time for me to fully appreciate all that has happened. Night School has been published so far in ten languages. It will be published in nine more over the coming months.
Night School: Heritage is out in France, and comes out in England (as Night School: Legacy) in a few days and in Germany as Night School: Der den Zweifel sät a few weeks after that. At this moment, I’m halfway through the writing of the third book in the series.
None of this would have happened without help and support from some amazing people. In my books I always thank my agent, editors and family, but right now I want to thank YOU.
Those of you who found Night School amid the thousands of amazing books out there and fell in love with it – you made this all happen.
Whether you read Night School in English, French or German, Hungarian, Hebrew or Turkish, Spanish, Estonian, or Italian – you are the ones this is all about. I wrote Night School for you.
I’ve met hundreds of Night School readers this year and I hope to meet even more of you in the coming months. I’ve yet to meet a Night School fan who wasn’t fabulous. You brighten my days.
So thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for giving Allie Sheridan and Cimmeria Academy a chance. Without you, they would not exist.
We have a journey to take together, as there will be five books in the series altogether so… Pack your bags.
I cannot WAIT to travel with you.
Goodbye 2012, and welcome 2013! I have a feeling this is going to be the best year ever.
